Location Description

Northfield, Minn. is home to two Post Consumer Brands manufacturing plants, the Campbell Mill and Ames Mill, two distribution centers, and more than team members.

The Campbell Mill plant is 1 million square feet and is home to 7 manufacturing technologies to produce a wide variety of cereal products our customers know and love.

Northfield is a town steeped in history, featuring two colleges and the original Ames Mill where the Malt-O-Meal Company got its start.

Responsibilities

Overview

Under the direction of the Materials Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing support operations.

The Production Support Team (PST) Supervisor will have the responsibility to achieve people safety, food safety, quality, customer service, productivity, efficiency, cost, and OEE objectives through both individual and team contributions.

He / she will provide direction, leadership, development, and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The PST Supervisor will engage team members in decision making while fostering a learning environment that requires involvement and personal accountability.

A key deliverable is to demonstrate daily the need for continuous improvement and change necessary to deliver on business results through the pursuit of best practices and deployment of standard work.

He / she will support, implement, and maintain food safety and quality practices as required through SQF.

Work Schedule : Day shift, Monday Friday 6 : am - 2 : pm or 7 : am 3 : pm. Work onsite at our Northfield Manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Develop team members to meet and / or exceed performance expectations and conduct company standards for personal safety, productivity, quality, food safety, sanitation, environmental, regulatory, compliance, and SQF.
  • Manage, prioritize, and coordinate finished products, packaging, raw materials, and work-in-process inventories to meet production needs, quality standards, and cost constraints.

Manage employee communications, expectations, and overall accountability. Act as general support and as a communication resource for employees.

Consult with employees regarding personnel and production problems.

  • Manage operations facilities, equipment, and systems in functional, sanitary, and safe working conditions while meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Perform safety, GMP, and pre-operational audits.
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement efforts around yield, OEE, engagement, safety, and quality for dedicated areas, improving processing efficiencies.
  • Implement new operating procedures, equipment, processes, and materials.
  • Develop training programs, assist employees in self-development, and communicate efficiency status.
  • Ensure safety guidelines are understood and followed, incidents properly reported, deficiencies appropriately addressed, and emergencies handled correctly.
  • Effectively manage and maintain material inventory and related operations.
  • Manage facility waste programs through outsourced relationships for cost-effective support.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Management, Science, or a related field strongly preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of combined related experience, with a preference in food processing / packaging. Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing / inventory systems and processes
  • Previous inventory management responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Ability to build relationships and inspire others
  • Mobile and able to take on broader assignments for additional development opportunities in other locations across Post Consumer Brands, preferred.
